Piers von Simson

Formerly a senior partner of Soditic. Prior to that, Piers was a Managing Director of UBS Warburg and a main board director of S.G. Warburg Group plc, where he had overall responsibility for all of the European corporate finance business of the bank. Working in New York and London, Piers has over 40 years experience of UK and international merger and acquisition advisory work. He read law at New College, Oxford (BA) and the University of California, Berkeley (LL.M). He is a qualified barrister and is fluent in German and French.

Mark Katzenellenbogen

Previously ran Soditic’s corporate finance operation and, prior to that, established S.G. Warburg in South Africa and was the managing director of S.G Warburg (Pty) Ltd. He also worked for the bank in New York and London, specialising in cross-border mergers and acquisitions. Mark has over 30 years M&A experience. He is a non-executive director of Oldfield & Co. Ltd, a London based fund management company. He read history at Trinity College, Cambridge (MA).  

Charlie Metcalfe

Charlie has an advisory role at Auden Capital. He is President of Nikko Asset Management Europe Limited and was formerly the CEO of First State Investments, an award winning asset manager, specialising in long-only and long/short Emerging Market and Natural Resources funds. Before joining First State he was the Deputy CEO and Head of Distribution at Hermes Investment Management. Prior to that Charlie ran UK and Northern European Sales & Distribution at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. He started in money management at Merrill Lynch and was responsible for Sub-Advisory & the Middle East, and was also a JP Morgan banker for 9 years in New York and London. He is currently Chairman of an AIM-listed VCT managed by Triple Point and a Trustee of the Leukaemia Research Fund. He read History at Yale (BA).  

Christina Frankopan

Previously with Lazard in London, and subsequently a Vice President at Soditic, Christina specialises in advising on corporate and financial strategy and in asset management transactions. Christina read Economics at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge (MA) and is a Member of the Securities Institute and a Fellow of the RSA.
